Nagaland is an Indian State located in the Northeastern region of India and its capital is Kohima. Nagaland State is established on 1-Dec-1963. Total area of Nagaland state is 16,579 sq km (6400 sq mi) and Population of Nagaland state is 1,978,502 (2011 census). It is one of the Seven Sister States of India. It is bordered on its west and north by Assam, on its east by Myanmar (formerly known as Burma), on its north by Arunachal Pradesh, and on its south by Manipur.
Nagaland has a lot to offer tourists and is famous for the Hornbill Festival, held every December. This week long festival is held at the Naga Heritage Village, Kisama, which is around 12 km from Kohima. Other tourist attractions in Nagaland are Touphema Tourist Village, Dzukou Valley and Kohima the state capital, which is known for housing the largest crucifix in Asia.
