The Indian state of Mizoram is mountainous state in north eastern India, In 1987 it became the 23rd state of Indian Union. It is divided into 8 districts and The capital of Mizoram is Aizwal. The population of Mizoram state is 1,091,014 (2011 Census) and covers an area of 21,081 km sq, the density of Mizoram state is 52 per sq km. Mizoram is shares borders with Tripura, Assam, Manipur and neighbouring countries like Bangladesh and Burma. 

When Mizoram became a Union Territory, it was divided into three districts Aizwal, Lunglei and Chhimtuipui. Later five more districts were carved out of the already existing three districts.
